Wow, where has the summer gone? Seems like it has just flown by. Guess it was because we had such a busy, involved one. I love the fall, but do not look forward to winter. Jim is back in school, and we are starting to get back on schedule. Whatever that is. We had our 1st Great Grandbaby, Jacy Lorraine Smith, is summer. Had a bunch of the grandkids stay over. Jace got married to a great girl, Reilee Jo O'Brien Opps! She is now Reilee Jo Brinkerhoff. She was so cute at the weddding, the sealer called her Mrs. Brinkerhoff and she said Oh, that's me! We love her. We attended the Erickson Reunion in July, and spent Labor Day weekend at OtterCreek in our lovely trailer. We also took a trip to Panguitch Lake the weekend that Jacy was blessed. We killed 2 birds with one stone, I guess you could say. So you can see we have been on the run,

Phew.... just writing this makes me tired. I will post some pictures of all our fun.

Shay's Surgery.........

So Monday was Shay's big day. We all trugde up to Primary Children's for her surgery. We were told to be there at 10:45 and that she would go in at 12. But due to mixed up schedules, we ended up waiting until 2:30 for her to go in. But, they had told us it would take 4 to 5 hours and he came out after 3 and said they were all done. She did great! No problems with her lungs, or her ribs, and he felt good about it. Thanks Heaven for answered Prayers!.

We finally got to go see Jace play ball this year. It has been so dang cold, but Sat. in the sun it was pretty warm. In fact Jim and I both got a little sun burned. Matt and Syd came also, as he was up taking his EMT testing. Syd came to spend some time with Shay before her surgery. All in all it was a fun time, even tho they lost to Ganzaga.

We thought this was Shay's last baby tooth for her to lose when we took the picture, but then decided she has one more molar. She pulled it herself, when her Mom called to see if the dentist could do it. She is a tough girl.
And this next Monday she will prove her toughness again, when she has back surgery to have rods put in, to straighten her back. Keep her in your prayers, we believe in prayers.

Dad and I rode up to see the place we are having our reunion in June. There was still snow around, and lots of deer, The Ritz it is not, but I think we will have fun here for a couple of days. At least we will have a place out of the weather, and it has air conditioning, ( if we need it in June) Has a big area in front to play games and let the kids run. The river behind the building is not too deep right now, but they say there are fish in it. Have to use flies or lures. Beautiful area. I am excited ,hope you will enjoy it.

This weekend, we went and got our taxes prepared at H&R Block. WOW, what a shock, but lucky us, just as we were getting in the car to come home, Danelle text'd us and said "Come to the new Lehi Bowling Alley and join us for a game". So to forget the shock from the taxes, we did. Nell wooped us all, and I was the end. But we had fun. It has been a long time since I bowled. Thanks for the fun!!!!

It came to pass that Matt was called to be the 1st Councilor in the Bishopric of the Monroe 4th Ward. He was/is very humbled, but seems to fit in well with the other guys, except that he is a lot taller than any of them. We are sure that he will do a great job, and are very proud of him. The Lord sure seemed to know where he needed to be. If we all will just " Be Still, and know..." He will lead us all. Good Luck Matt, and Good Luck Shanni, you will make it.

Friday, we decided to make a run for the border. The border of AZ.
Shay has been having a lot of pain in her back , so we decided to go see
her Dr. in AZ and see if we could get her brace fitted, since she has grown so much since getting it. We took off Friday night about 6 pm and went to Cedar, where we stayed with Erick's family. They are always so nice to let us do that. Especially on the spur of the moment. We got up at 7am and headed south. We stopped here at Boulder for a potty break and enjoyed the cute statues they had all around the place.

When we got to Chris's house Sat. afternoon, we rested for a few minutes and then jumped back in the car and went to the orchard up the street to pick some oranges and grapefruits to bring home and share. We had to hurry, as it was near dusk. but we got some nice ones, and wow are they sweet..........

Shay's Dr. met them and to our distress, told Shay that her back had moved so much, that the brace would not work anymore, so we will now pursue other options. She was pretty shook up, so to cheer her up and make Danelle happy( she loves this place) we went to " Bahama Bucks"

What is wrong with these AZ people, we came here to get away from the SNOW! Just outside the door is a palm tree where everyone sticks their umbrellas

from their drinks. Wylene says they clean them off every so often, and then it starts over. The kids had fun going along with the crowd.

Sunday about 10 am, we said our goodbyes and thanks to Chris's family for letting us crash on them. None of us really wanted to get in that car again, but off we went. We stopped at the Hoover Dam to stretch our legs. Here is my update photo on the new bridge. Haven't done a lot since Nov.

Grandpa and Shay in the gift shop, under a flashing Las Vegas sign. But DARN, it didn't keep flashing in the picture. We stopped in St. George and got a room. We had had it with the car and need to stop. The kids swam in the pool and then we had a good nights sleep, next morning we forced ourselves into the car again and thanks to Grandpa Jim, got home safely.

Lehi City Arts department had a Photography Contest, and because I know
Shay loves to take pictures, I encouraged her to take some and submit them. The theme was Lehi: Past and Present. There were 21 youth entries and YAY!!!!!!! Shay took 3rd place. I am so proud of her. She took a couple pictures of the old Jordan River Bridge, and the new bridge just next to it.
On the new one you could see the shadow of the old one. She called the old bridge " Bridge of Memories Past" and the new one was called " Refections of Memories Now" ( I think, something close to that anyway) For her first time entering, she did AWESOME. I hope she keeps doing it.
( And yes Robbin, there were a few pictures of Porter's Place) There really were some great pictures exhibited, I was very impressed.

Delivering Christmas.......

Monday before Christmas, we took off to deliver presents. We went to Cedar first and enjoyed all their Christmas spirit........

Erick got a new hat from the fire chief. That bugger is heavy.

Kimber was full of the" spirit".

After a great meal, we enjoyed our evening watching" Mr. Kruger's Christmas" , while Kimber and Kasey tied a quilt. After a good nights rest (thanks again Kyle for your bed), we headed for Monroe. A storm was expected, but it was not bad.

We got there in time to enjoy Syd's play. Her 6th grade did CharlesDicken's

Christmas Carol. She was one of the storytellers named Holly.

Great Job Syd. We are proud of you. We really enjoyed it. Lots of talent for

6th graders.

We stopped by Syd's locker. Ya know, she's in middle school now. I think she really likes her school. It is just a few blocks from their home.

After we went home , ate and then the kids opened presents. The snow had really started to come down by then, but we headed out in 4wheel drive and after 3 long hours. We got home safe and sound. Thanks Jim.

Matt and family came up Friday for a sleep over and Saturday morning while Nell and I were at W. W. and Matt and Shani went shopping, Grandpa Jim took the kids to the park for some fun in the snow. 1st Grade Christmas Program

Colt had his Christmas Program tonight and Jim and I were able to go watch him sing. They did some really cute songs, and Colt has the cutest facial expressions. He also pulled some funny faces. I didn't get any pictures of him during the program, but here is one of him after.
He really fit the song" All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth". Course, most of the kids up on stage probably fit the song. Way to go Colt! Good Job

After the Eagle Ceremony, we headed for the Mesa Temple to see the lights. It is a lot different walking around in warm weather enjoying the lights. It was a

Thanksgiving............

This year for Thanksgiving, Jim and I picked up Kyle, and Kimber from Cedar and headed south to AZ. Here we are in Mesquite looking for a Geo Cache. We never did find it. But found one across the freeway. It sure helps to get out and stretch .

It was exciting to see the progress on the bridge at Hoover Dam. Kimber and I still don't know if we want to travel across it when it is finished. It is so high!!!

Sorry this picture is out of place, but after dinner, they cleaned off the table and WAALA there was a pool table.

Kyle and Brennon challenged each other. As well as a few others. You will see Brennon further down the blog.

In the morning, after Chris, Wylene and Gentry went and participated in the Turkey Trot at the park and Chris played football, they came home and watched the parade and football game . I had printed out a bingo for both and the kids had fun filling out the bingo's and picking out their candy from a bagful I brought.

Then we headed for Queen Creek, where Wylene's Mom and uncles live. That is where we had dinner. Out on the patio we found "the bird" that Chris's family used to have. Colt, do your remember this little guy who say's "Hey Birdie". He still says it, Chris said, " Don't get him started."

Wylene has a tradition of making a cornucopia out of bread and filling it with lots of yummy vegtables. She followed through this year, and we all nibbled on it until dinner was ready.

All in all we had a great Thanksgiving. The food was so yummy and the company some of the best. What more could you ask for.

November is here and along with Thanksgiving, we will remember a couple of birthdays. Nov. 6 was Mom's birthday and Nov. 27 would have been Dad Cox's Birthday. We miss them, but are happy that they were a part of our lives and are glad that someday we can be with them again.
Also this month, Chris and Wylene will celebrate their wedding anniversary. They have had a hard year, but have been strong and faithful and are getting through it.
This economy stinks!!!!!! We love them and are proud of the cute family that they have.
Only other birthday is ME!!!!! I am just getting older, at least my body is , my mind ( what I have left) is just as young as ever. I LOVE LIFE!!!!

Halloween......

After we helped move Matt, we went to Cedar so we could be there to see Kurtis ordained a teacher. That night was Halloween, and the kids were watching movies and eating lots of yummy snacks. Kyle's friend,
Serge was there.( it is really Kristin, but she had her Grandma fooled for a few minutes). We had so much fun. It is always fun to spend time with this family. We are proud of you Kurtis, keep on making good choices.

Home, Sweet New Home.....

Here is Matt's family's new home in Monroe. They are renting, but love the area and the neighbors. Everyone was so nice the day they moved in. Brought dinner and everything.

This is an extra room down stairs, that Syd and Stetson were enjoying dancing and singing in. The big tile mirror, made a perfect place.

Jim and Matt are loading up the UHaul. Matt has got a job in Richfield and they are headed that way. They have a home rented in Monroe. He has to be at work on Monday, so we are trying to get everything loaded so we can get there tomorrow. We wish them luck on their new adventure. We will miss them, but know that they need to be on their own, and doing their thing.

Jim and I went to the wedding reception of his cousin Suzette's daughter
Amourette. Here are Suzette, Amourette, and Juliette ( her youngest daughter.)

The reception was held at Le Caille, a awesome french hideaway at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. There were peacocks wandering all around, and a few Canadian Geese. The atmosphere was charming, made you wonder if that is how it really is in France. But the Groom was

surely not french, as he was wearing a kilt! Suzette said his Mom is from

Glasgow, Scotland. ( he is in the background of this picture. Sorry they are not better, but I took them with my phone)

This is some of the yummy treats we had. Coconut Shrimp. salmon on cucumbers, Beef Kabobs, Eclairs, Chocolate Strawberries, ( like Danelle makes). Tarts, cheese, crackers, all kinds of fruit, ( the biggest raspberries I have seen) cream brule, YUM!

Here are the 3 musketeer's. Brennon, who will be getting his Eagle soon, Jim and Chris.

This is Jim with John Stewart. John was one of Jim's scouts when we lived in Spanish Fork. It was so neat that they both got the award together. John was one of the ones who sent in a letter about Jim to the committee and had lots of nice things to say about him. Some of the things they read about Jim today, were things John had written.

The Brinkerhoff's with Jim at our house. We were all so proud of him. He deserves it very much, as he has loved scouting for 45 years and done a lot to help many boys.

Jim and Vance (wylene's uncle) had a arm wrestling contest, but they are still friends.

Lana, (wylene's Mom) had something shocking to tell. ( I guess, at least Tricia looks like it might me shocking)

McCrae was entertaining us . He got this idea from Aunt Tricia.

Todd and Danelle were having their own party out back. I told them to get a room, but they just laughed.

We missed Erick and family, but the last post tells you why he wasn't here. He called and sent his love to his Dad. And we understood. We are just glad now that it was worth not having him here.

Jim and I celebrated our 46th Wedding Anniversary last weekend. I told him the only thing I wanted was to load up our trailer and go camping.

As we headed up Spanish Fork Canyon, it was pouring rain, and we saw this beautiful rainbow. It was actually a double, but I didn't get both.

We figured this was a good sign, as it rained all day the day we got married. 9/6/63

When we got to Scofield on Saturday night, it was not bad. The weather was very nice the whole time. Cool enough we didn't need the cooler on, but cool enough we did need the heater at night. NICE.

Sunday morning we got up and attended church at the branch they have there in town. There were 231 people in this little building, most were visitors there for the weekend. We filled the chapel and also the cultural hall. Got to see some friends we hadn't seen in years. In fact we spent 2 hours visiting with Ann (Helsten) Carter and her husband Woody at their home after church. It was a nice visit.

After we went back to the trailer and changed our clothes we took a stroll through the cemetery. You can see the cozy little town in the background.
Jim and I have lots of memories of this place , as we both spent a lot of time here fishing in our youth. My family also spent time here visiting the Helstens, as Fran was my mother's best friend growing up and they held on to that friendship all through time.

As we toured the cemetery, it was interesting, but sad to see all these tall

plaques that were erected for the miners that were killed in the mine explosion in the 1800's. That was a hard time for this little community.

We took a drive up to Clear Creek, another small mining community farther up the canyon, and on the way back spotted this Momma deer and her two little fawns. They just stood and watched us. The fawn just in front of the other fawn was moving so it is blurry....sorry.....

We spent some time with Jim doing crossword puzzles, (no doubt) and me doing word finds. It was nice just to not have to be running somewhere, or even answering phones, as ours had no service there.

Monday morning, not too early, we got up and headed for the lake. There is so much area that is now privately owned and has NO TRESPASSING signs up, that we were not sure where to go. But Ann had told us that we could go on the beach that was on Helsten property, so we did. I told Jim that I really didn't care if I fished, I just wanted to sit and listen to the water lap on the shore and enjoy the beauty around me. SURE!!!!!

I caught one as soon as the first cast hit the water. and then caught 3 more . They were not very big so we released them with as little damage to them as could be.

This one is a tiger trout. The biggest one I caught.
And here is my Honey with his one and only catch. Sorry Dear, at least you didn't get skunked!!!! You shouldn't have bought me that" whoopin stik " pole if ya didn't want to get whooped. It was so fun. Now I am energized to get back in the grind. I am so thankful for my dear sweet husband, he is one of a kind. I am so thankful that he is mine. Thanks for the ride Dear, bumps included!!!

Sorry I put the pictures on the blog in the wrong order, but here is the progress of the building crew. Erick decided to build on to their family room. He wants to put the stove he got from Grandpa and Grandma Starich's house up and didn't have the room for it before. It also will help give Karen more room for her daycare. Here Shawn, Kasey and Kimber are taking a break and warning, " Tut, Tut it looks like rain".

On our way to Cedar last weekend, we saw this huge plume of smoke, and we kept getting closer and closer. As we got near Beaver, we figured the town was on fire. Not so, just all the field and sagebrush left of town.
We tuned in to the local station and found out it was a controlled? burn.
The sun was amazingly red through the smoke.

You can see how much of it burned.

Stinky........... Glad they got in under control. When we came home, all was well.

On Sept. 12, 2009, Jim will be presented with the Silver Beaver Award.
The highest award in scouting for leaders. The presentation will be at the Provo Tabernacle. We are so proud of him and all he has done for the many scouts he has been priviledged to work with. He loves scouting and has a great testimony of what it does for young men. Way to go Jim!!!

Karen gave me a guilt complex, and then Jim cut our peach tree down, which didn't help. So Shanni and I spent the day doing peach freezer Jam. It is yummy, my sugar free ones are the glass bottles in the front. This winter, they will be great on waffles or toast. Your right Karen, it does make you feel good, knowing you did something toward food storage. Thanks for the nudge. I also did a few salsa.

Shay Lee's dog, Nellie, had 4 puppies. This was the runt. They fed it with a bottle for a few days, but it just didn't seem to grow, so they took it
to the vet and had it checked. It had a cleft palete and it would have taken intraveinous feeding until it got old enough for major surgery to correct it's problem. Needless to say, that was not an option. So, I along with the kids, got to take it to the vet the next day and have them put it to sleep.
Sad day. It was just so tiny and cute. It tried so hard to make it. Some day we will see it again. Healthy and happy. Huh Colt?

While we were at the reunion, we went and picked up an old friend who used to live in Fillmore across the street from us Bev. Williams. Tricia and Danelle went and got her and she had dinner with us, pulled pork sandwiches, watergate salad, and fruit, made by Erick and Karen's family. With yummy pina colada, and strawberry Daquiri Cake made by Kristin. We laughed so hard we cried.
She has always had such a cute sense of humor and we love her. Her health has not been the best the last few years, she has MS and we are so glad we were able to visit with her. ( note Jim and My new trailer in the background. It was so delightful. No more sleeping on the ground or in the car. Yeah!!!!!)

This year we headed for Richfield............

Todd and Danelle were in charge and she has a good friend who runs the KOA down there, so she booked it. Her theme for this year was a Hawaiian Luau.
We had so much fun. We had races doing the hula hoop! Go Erick!!!!! We layed around.........................................

We fished at Otter Creek. But it was so o o o o o o....hot we couldn't stand to be on the beach, so the only ones caught were by Matt and Kyle out in Erick's boat.

We are so excited, we have Courtney here with us for a few weeks. Tonight we played Scrabble, not with these chez its, but she had some fun with them before we got the real thing out!

Yesterday we went shopping and then stopped at "Maggleby Fresh" for lunch.

I caught them with their mouths full. It was Yum........

NORTH TO ALASKA............

The Brinkerhoff family is off and running on a return trip to Anchorage, Alaska.
Most of you know that they spent 2 years up there while Joe attended college and played basketball for the U of Anchorage. In fact Jace was born up there. I was lucky enough to go help out when he was born. But this year, Jace has been up there playing "Summer Baseball" on a league out of Anchorage. So they thought it would be the perfect time to go check things out and reminisce. The girls have never been there and were excited to see somewhere new. We dropped them off at the Airport this evening, and hope they can all get some sleep on the plane, as they all looked worn out.

But they haven't lost their sense of humor, you can tell by their silly faces in the next picture.
Have fun, be careful and take a picture of a moose for us. P.S. They will be bringing Jace home, he is having trouble with his arm and will probably need surgery to get him ready for next season at UVU. Can't wait to see ya Jace.

Soar like an EAGLE..............

This last weekend we went down to Cedar City to celebrate with Kyle , and attend his Eagle Court of Honor.

Here he is pining the mother's pin on Karen. We were all so proud of him. Lots of hard work went into getting this award. He had 51 plus merit badges he has earned.
After he was presented with his award, Kyle presented Jim with a "Mentor"

award ( which is a new award, given to someone who helped the Eagle get his award). He stood up and gave such a nice little talk about how Grandpa had helped encourage him and offered to help in any way, and was always checking on him to see how he was doing. It was a real honor for Jim to get that little pin. Here is a picture of all 4 of our Scouts. Erick , Kurtis, Jim and Kyle
At the same Court of Honor, Kurtis was presented with his LIFE award. He has one more merit badge and has to wait his 6months and he will get his EAGLE.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WORLD.............

Last Monday, Todd and Danelle called and ask us to meet them up the A F Canyon. So Jim, I and Sydney hopped in the Tundra and took off. They said they would meet us at Cascade Springs, on the back side of Timp. This is looking back at Timp. See the snow still left! It was a beauty of a day. When we got to Cascade Springs, we found that they had gone down stream from the springs to fish and so we went to find them. We had to cross the stream a few times. I thought this was a beautiful sight , so wanted to share the view.

There were butterflies all over. Many different sizes. I think they must have just hatched. Most were this size, but every once in awhile a BIG yellow and black monarch would fly by. It was awesome.

At last we found them, and Shay said " Stop"

Sydney jumped out and joined Shay, Colt, Rachel (shay's neighbor friend) and

Nelly ( shay's new puppy) They loved the water. It was just right in temp.

This was just a big mud puddle, but they had fun playing in it.

We tried to drive on down the stream and see if we would come out in Provo

Canyon, but we hit some spots that were straight up!!!!!! and rocky. We tried a few, and made them( with the help of Syd's prayer) but they just kept on getting steeper and we were not sure where we would end up, so we turned around and

returned the way we came. ( Syd kept saying , We are gonna Die!) I feared for my life too some times. Jim just laughed. I guess I was not cut out to be a 4-wheeler.

When we got back to Cascade Springs, we stopped and walked around a little.

This is a fish we saw. There were a lot of them, but they just ignored us!

It was a fun day. And we made it home ALiVe!!!!!!! Thanks Father in Heaven, for all your beautiful creations that we can go and enjoy.

Yesterday, Jim had a tumor taken off his nose. It was the kind that is pretty easy to get and it only took the Dr. 5 minutes to have it out. Then we sat and waited for 45 minutes while they checked to make sure he got it all. It was about the size of a pea. He then stitched him up and sent us on our way.
It was really sore yesterday, but he has had a pretty good day , today. Tomorrow he gets to take the bandage off and check it out. It looks pretty swollen, and the grandkids yesterday, called him "Squidward" cause his nose was so big. He has been pretty awesome about it. Went shopping and all, I don't think I would have.

Tonight after working in the garden, picking peas, and radishes, Matt was watering and this dragonfly came out of the peach tree and landed on his pants.

It just stayed there for a long time while he watered and then he came and sat down and picked it up. He held it for awhile and then it flew over into the pine tree. Jim called it," Evinrude ".

Matt , Shanni and family were down in Price for the weekend and wanted to go with us to decorate graves, so they met us in Huntington and we started there

We ran into Dan, Bud and Connie at the Price cemetery and got to visit. We were not going to see anyone, because Jim and I both have bad colds, and we didn't want to share our germs, but we were so glad we got to see them anyway. Bud looks real good, and as always was full of jokes. He said" he knows more people in the cemetery anymore than he does out of it" What a tease he is.

Every year Erick and his whole family go to Otter Creek to fish on Memorial Weekend. They have invited us so many times, but we always feel obligated to go decorate the graves, but this year we decided to do both. We went down to Richfield on Friday night and stayed at the Fairfield Inn, (very nice) and left early Sat. morning and got there about 9 am. It was raining a little, but Erick took Jim out on his boat with Kyle and Justin and they got 5 nice ones. The rest of us stayed in the trailer and played Rummy, watched Mall Cop, and slept and read. The guys came back in to eat lunch. They were soaked, and Erick was shivering he was so cold. Jim had a bright orange rain coat that kept him a little dry. Erick took a nice hot shower and changed his clothes and when they finished eating, they went back out. They got a couple more and then it cleared up some and the sun came out. I finally got to throw my new pole in and wet my bait, but I didn't even get a bite. But we sure had fun. Erick fileted 8 of them for us to bring home. We left about 8:15 and got home around midnight. It was really worth the long trip.

Just wanted to share my Austrian Copper rose bush with you all. My Dad had a beautiful one of these in his yard and I always loved it. So did Jim, so we planted one in our back yard. It was just covered with blossoms this year. Enjoy!

Spanish takes 3rd in State Playoffs................

Guess ya can't win every year. Kylee already has a ring from taking State Champs, but she was still upset cause Viewmont beat them last Thursday. But then Bingham beat Viewmont and took the lead. It was fun watching her play. I just feel bad for Tricia, hope she makes it through McKinley playing in High School. It is very nerve racking to see them struggle so. GOOD JOB Ky!!!! You gave it your all! SLCC here she comes........

We were lucky enough to have 2 of our Granddaughters perform in " Hope of America" this year
at BYU . Shay, the first night, she was on the floor, in the first row. Then Sydney , the second night, she was a star in the flag. The music was awesome and the performance of dance and such were amazing. It was worth the long walks from where we had to park and waiting in line to get out after it was all over. It really made my heart swell with pride of being an American.
I love this country. WE ARE PROUD OF YOU GIRLS!!!

Lazy Days of Summer.......

Danelle had her yearly echo cardiogram today, so Grandpa picked Colt up from school and then grabbed Shay and her friend Ashley Marshall and brought them home. After a quick sandwich, they all went out and climbed a tree, to get some shade. It hit 90 degrees today. Wow, and it is not even June.

State Softball Playoffs.............

Tonight we went down to Spanish Fork for the 1st game of the State Softball playoffs.
Spanish played Brighton, well, at least Brighton tried to play . Spanish won 12 to 1, they called it in the 5th inning, with the 10 run rule. Kylee hit a double, 3 different times, and she caught some awesome balls out in the field. Way to go Ky, we'll see what happens on Thursday.

We went down to Cedar last weekend and Kimber had a date for the Graduation Dance. It had a Masquerade Ball theme. She looked so cute, and said she had a great time.

They had a 5K run at Matt's work, where he works with troubled Youth, so he decided to give it a try.

Since the kids were out for Spring Break, Jim and I decided to take them all to the Living Aquarium in Sandy. We had a ball. So much to see, so much to learn.

We were lucky that Dan, Joe's Dad was up from Fillmore for a Dr. appointment and went with us, here he is with Tricia and Danelle in the boat on Salt Lake.(haa haa)

Shay had the part of Thing 2 in the school play " Susical the Musical", her friend was Thing 1.
Jim and I went to watch her last night and took McKinley and Sydney with us. Shani and the rest of the kids decided to come later on. Shay did an awesome job. She has a lot of cute facial expressions that she used, as the Things did not talk!!!! They did flips and all kinds of other things, but no talking!!!!

After it was over, we got all the cousins together and took their pictures. Shay dumped a whole ton of paper shredds on Grandma, She was covered. McKinley took a picture, but my eyes were closed and I looked awful, so I am not posting that. But we had fun, lots of music and laughs!!!!!

Grandpa Dan taught Jim that peas should be planted on St. Patrick's day, so we can have peas by July 4th. Each year he has the help of some of the Grandkids, this year it was Sydney
